One Small Step
A ballet exploring humanity and beauty through 1s and 0s.
The Brief
Commissioned by choreographer Kevin Jenkins for Belhaven University's main-stage season. The piece asks what remains human when expression is mediated through code.
The Approach
Composed across both analog and digital instrumentation - strings and field recordings layered with programmed synthesis. Built the score in close conversation with the choreography, with multiple revision passes against rehearsal video.
The Outcome
Performed to sold-out audiences. Score now streaming on all platforms.
