The Brief
Everyday Charlie is a new musical for middle- and high-school performers, with a score by Summer Dregs. It tells the story of Charlie, a 5th grader who has to change schools in the middle of the school year - navigating new friendships with the Explorers Club, a kickball team captain resistant to change, and keeping his Professor Pi gummies from getting traded at lunchtime, all while trying to figure out what makes him Charlie.
The Approach
Original songs written with BROCRISP and Paul Smallman - built for young performers to sing and stage, carrying real feeling without outrunning the room.
The Outcome
Performed all over the country, from Chattanooga to NYC - and licensed through Rock Rising, so the next production could be at any school or theater.
